Xiaomi just rolled out the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The Pro Max carries Qualcomm’s top new chip, two 200MP Leica cameras, a secondary rear screen, and a main display with a built-in privacy feature.
Qualcomm revealed its latest flagship chips the day before. Xiaomi put them to work right away. The Pro Max gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The smaller 18 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Both chips sit on a 2nm process and can push their prime CPU cores to 5GHz.
Dual 200MP Leica Cameras and the Rear Screen
The Pro Max opens with a 200MP Leica main camera on a 1/1.28-inch sensor. A second 200MP sensor handles the 3.2x periscope telephoto. That telephoto lens also works for macro shots from 12cm. Xiaomi says it pulls in 83% more light than the matching camera on last year’s model. A 50MP ultrawide rounds out the rear setup.
The small rear display returns for another generation. Xiaomi first added it on the 17 Pro series. On the Pro Max it measures 2.86 inches and runs at 120Hz. The OLED sits next to the cameras and can show custom images, wallpapers, and app cards. This time Xiaomi also added AI-generated cards.
The 18 Pro keeps the dual 200MP cameras and privacy display but steps down to a 2.66-inch rear screen.
Smart Privacy Screen 2.0
The front panel is a 6.9-inch OLED. Its standout feature is Xiaomi’s Smart Privacy Screen 2.0. The system limits the viewing angle at the display level, so content stays much harder to see from the side.
Samsung first put a built-in privacy display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. That version controls how pixels spread light and can lock down the full screen or just selected apps and notifications. Xiaomi takes a similar hardware approach with narrow-angle privacy pixels. When the feature is on, side-view brightness can drop to around 1% past a 60-degree angle.
Battery, Charging, and Pricing
The Pro Max holds an 8,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The 18 Pro drops to a 7,000mAh battery.
Chinese pricing starts at 6,999 yuan (about $1,045) for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and 5,999 yuan (about $895) for the 18 Pro. Both models go on sale in China today. No international launch details have been announced yet.
