Google has started taking pre-orders for its new Googlebook laptop line. These premium notebooks center on Gemini AI and sync with Android devices. Five models from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo reach U.S. shelves on October 4. Prices begin at $899.
The move shifts Google away from the Chromebook brand it launched more than a decade ago. Google first announced the Googlebook category in May. It framed the line as a full rethink of its laptop approach, built around Gemini Intelligence, native Android app support, and phone-to-laptop connectivity.
Lenovo Googlebook 15 Specs and Pricing
Lenovo introduced the Googlebook 15 on Sunday. It is the company’s first model in the category and the largest of the five initial devices.
The laptop carries a 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen. It runs at 120Hz and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. An Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor powers it and delivers up to 47 TOPS of AI performance.
The Googlebook 15 weighs under three pounds and starts at $1,099.99. It becomes available October 4. Lenovo targets professionals and creators with the design. Features include a haptic touchpad, quad-speaker Dolby Atmos audio, and battery life up to 12.5 hours.
Gemini AI Features Built Into Googlebooks
AI sits at the core of every Googlebook. Magic Pointer lets users shake the cursor to call up Gemini for tasks such as combining images or adding events to a calendar.
Rambler handles voice input through a dedicated dictation key. It transcribes speech, removes filler words, and manages language switches mid-sentence.
Qualcomm confirmed that its Snapdragon X Elite platform powers the Dell and HP Googlebooks. The chips bring native Android apps and games together with Gemini tools. Kedar Kondap, Qualcomm’s senior vice president and general manager of compute and gaming, stated: “Snapdragon X Elite delivers extraordinary performance and efficiency, now paired with support for native Android apps and games for Googlebooks users.”
What’s Included With Every Purchase
Every Googlebook buyer receives a 12-month Google AI Pro trial valued at $249.99. The package covers Gemini Pro access, 5TB of cloud storage, and subscriptions to Adobe Photoshop, CapCut, and YouTube Premium, among other services. The trial turns into a paid subscription unless the buyer cancels.
Lenovo also plans a companion AI Mouse for the Googlebook. It offers one-click Gemini access and Magic Pointer integration. Pricing and availability for the mouse have not been released.
