Googlebook Laptops With Gemini AI: Models, Features, and Pricing

Googlebook Launch Details

Google and Qualcomm have introduced Googlebook, a new laptop category built around Google’s Gemini Intelligence. The first five models come from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Asus.

Pre-orders are available now, and the Googlebook lineup is scheduled to launch on October 4, 2026.

Googlebook laptops move beyond the Chromebook line into higher-priced models. They combine ChromeOS with Android technology, including native Android app support, connectivity with Android phones, and on-device AI features.

Pricing begins at $899 for the Acer Googlebook 14. Models from Asus, HP, and Lenovo reach $1,299.

Googlebook AI and Android Features

Googlebook devices use a dedicated neural processing unit that delivers up to 45 TOPS for on-device AI capabilities.

The platform includes software features designed around Android phone and laptop use:

• Cast my Apps: Mirrors Android phone apps on the laptop.
• Magic Pointer: Opens Gemini when the cursor is wiggled.
• Native Android app support: Lets Googlebook users run supported Android apps and games.

Google has also secured native app support from Adobe, Netflix, and HBO Max. Developer tools listed for the platform include Claude CLI and Google Antigravity.

Googlebook Hardware and Design

Every Googlebook model includes:

• OLED touchscreen
• Dolby Atmos audio
• Fingerprint sensor
• Glowbar LED light strip

The Glowbar responds to power-on activity, battery status, and Gemini interactions.

Snapdragon X Elite Googlebook Models

The Dell XPS Googlebook and HP Googlebook 14 use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processor. The chip includes a 12-core Oryon CPU that runs at up to 4GHz.

Snapdragon X Elite configurations also include:

• Wi-Fi 7
• Bluetooth 5.4
• Support for up to three external 4K displays

Intel-Powered Googlebook Models

The Acer and Asus Googlebook models use Intel Core Ultra Series 3, also called Panther Lake, processors. The Lenovo Googlebook 15 also uses an Intel processor.

Googlebook Pricing and Memory Requirements

Google’s stated entry price for Googlebook is $899, though the Acer model is the only one at that price and it is offered for a limited time.

All Googlebook laptops require at least 16GB of RAM. Combined with rising memory costs, this requirement makes pricing below $1,000 more difficult.

MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max for Future Googlebooks

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity CX C10 Max, a 3nm chip designed specifically for Googlebooks. MediaTek lists 55 TOPS of AI performance for the processor, which pairs with an Immortalis G925 GPU.

MediaTek claims the chip provides roughly 15% better multi-core performance than Snapdragon X Elite in Geekbench 6. Lenovo is working with MediaTek on a future Googlebook, although a release date has not been confirmed.

The MediaTek option may provide another route for Googlebook pricing, but no specific product pricing or availability has been confirmed.
