Valve has released Proton 11.0-2. The version number may look routine, but SteamOS and Linux gamers gain meaningful compatibility improvements. This stable update resolves dozens of issues that kept Windows games from running cleanly, covering titles such as Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals, Arc Raiders, and the Forza Horizon series.
Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals, and Other Major Titles
Helldivers 2 should launch again. A recent game update had broken compatibility, and Proton 11.0-2 restores it. Marvel Rivals receives a crash fix. Arc Raiders becomes playable again for some users. Diablo IV and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain also get fixes after their own recent updates introduced compatibility problems.
These changes target real launch failures, crashes, and other blockers that had stopped players from starting or continuing sessions.
Forza Horizon Series Black-Screen and Suspend Fixes
The Forza Horizon games receive targeted attention. Proton 11.0-2 corrects black-screen problems that affected Forza Horizon 4, 5, and 6 on recent SteamOS versions. Forza Horizon 6 gains an additional fix: the game no longer closes automatically after the system is suspended and then resumed.
That suspend-and-resume behavior matters for handheld users who treat sleep mode as a normal way to pause play.
Stability Improvements Across Earlier Proton Issues
The update also cleans up problems that earlier Proton versions introduced. Performance issues in Terraria and Exanima are addressed. Ray-tracing problems in Crysis 2 Remastered are fixed. Launch failures in Borderlands GOTY Enhanced are resolved.
Nine more games have been added to the list of titles Proton officially supports.
Underlying Component Updates
Valve updated several of Proton’s building blocks to improve how Windows games run on Linux. One of those updates is FEX. It helps ARM-based hardware run games originally designed for x86 PCs and is relevant to Valve’s upcoming Steam Frame.
For everyday Steam Deck users the practical result is simpler. Games that failed to launch or run properly now have a stronger chance of working after this release.
