GTA 6 stands as one of the most anticipated game launches in years. So far, Rockstar Games has confirmed it only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No official word exists on a PC release, and that wait could stretch out for a long time.

Players locked into Microsoft’s ecosystem get a different path. Xbox has reportedly secured a deal that brings GTA 6 to its cloud gaming service. Anyone with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription can stream the game on the screen of their choice. That includes phones, tablets, and PCs. System specs stop mattering because the heavy lifting happens on Microsoft’s servers.

A report from The Verge states that sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans say Xbox landed the exclusive game streaming rights for Grand Theft Auto VI. Streaming becomes available with a Game Pass subscription in November.

What You Need to Stream GTA 6 on Xbox Cloud

Xbox Cloud streaming comes with a clear set of requirements:

  • An active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential subscription
  • A supported device such as a Windows PC, Apple or Android phone or tablet, Xbox console, select LG, Samsung, or VIDAA OS smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, or select Meta Quest VR headsets
  • A compatible controller connected by Bluetooth or USB; some titles also work with Xbox touch controls
  • A Wi-Fi or LTE connection with at least 10 Mbps download speed; 20 Mbps or higher on the 5 GHz band delivers the best experience
  • A supported browser including Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Safari

Xbox Cloud Limits and Recent Game Pass Changes

The timing lines up with major shifts inside Xbox. The company has overhauled parts of its business, including Game Pass and cloud streaming. In September it introduced monthly hour caps on cloud play. Ultimate subscribers get 15 hours. Premium drops to 10 hours. Essential allows only 5 hours of streamed gameplay each month.

Those limits apply across the service, so they will shape how long Game Pass members can spend in GTA 6 once it arrives on the cloud.
