Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold. The Coalition locked in the final PC specifications at the same time, and pre-install starts soon for anyone who wants the game ready before launch.

Pre-install opens September 29 at 8 AM PT / 15:00 UTC. You can grab it through Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox App on PC, and Steam. That early download window matters if you plan to play during Early Access, which begins October 1 for Premium Edition owners. The full release hits October 6. The game also lands day one on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.

Storage and Performance Tiers

One number stands out right away: Gears of War: E-Day needs 115GB of storage. Clear space on an SSD before the download starts. The PC requirements break into Minimum, Recommended, and Ultra tiers so players can gauge where their hardware sits.

The Minimum tier asks for 12GB of RAM and a GPU in the RTX 2060 or RTX 5050 class. That baseline gets the game running without extreme demands. Recommended steps up from there and stays within reach for a lot of current gaming PCs. Ultra aims higher, targeting 4K at 60fps with upscaling enabled.

What the Game Supports on PC

Gears of War: E-Day runs on Unreal Engine 5. It includes hardware ray-traced reflections, shadows, and global illumination. Upscaling options cover DLSS, FSR, and XeSS. PC players also get HDR, ultrawide monitor support, advanced graphics settings, and a built-in benchmark mode.

The Coalition kept refining PC stability and performance after the July multiplayer beta. Those updates carried into the final version.
