Meta’s upcoming Muse agent is positioned as a personal AI assistant that goes beyond answering questions. Early screenshots indicate it may help users manage everyday tasks, monitor longer-term goals, and stay organized across schedules, emails, and to-do lists.

TestingCatalog reports that Muse has progressed from internal testing to a limited closed alpha. Invite-code functionality has appeared alongside a waitlist, though Meta has not announced a wider public launch date.

What Meta Muse Could Do

Muse appears designed to handle small but time-consuming tasks that can pile up during the day. According to its App Store listing under Meta Platforms, Inc., the agent can manage email. Screenshots also suggest it could act proactively, helping users follow through on tasks rather than simply responding to commands.

One example shared by TestingCatalog shows Muse locating a school field-trip permission slip in an email and completing it. The agent then identifies that the trip requires a chaperone, checks whether the user is available, and asks for approval to sign them up and send a confirmation email.

After receiving approval, Muse says it will remind the user to pack lunch.

That example points to a workflow where the agent may connect information across email, availability, and follow-up reminders. It also shows that Muse is expected to ask before taking certain actions.

Goal Tracking in the Muse Interface

Another early screenshot shows a dedicated goals area. The examples displayed include:

  • Dinner reservations
  • Marathon preparation
  • Saving for a new car

Users appear able to create and track progress on goals across categories, including health and relationships. The interface suggests Muse may be intended for both immediate tasks and plans that unfold over a longer period.

Meta’s Existing AI Plans

Muse fits with Meta’s broader work on task-oriented AI features. In July, Meta introduced features for Meta AI that included planning tools, email and calendar connections, and daily briefings.

The Muse agent appears to build on that direction by bringing task management, goal tracking, email handling, and schedule awareness into a standalone personal assistant experience.

Meta Muse Testing and Release Status

Muse is reportedly in limited alpha testing. TestingCatalog has identified a waitlist and invite codes, but access remains restricted.

Mobile and web versions are expected. Desktop access may arrive later, although that has not been confirmed.
