How Claude Helped Adapt PCSX2

The developers say Claude handled most programming while they guided development and tested results. Browser-specific replacements generate WebAssembly, and the renderer uses WebGPU. Automated tests check output against PCSX2.

The developers credit over 20 years of contributions to PCSX2, which also powers PS5SX2 on jailbroken PS5 consoles.

Games and Performance

Tested titles include GTA San Andreas. Digital Trends reported flawless performance with Final Fantasy XII and Burnout on a GMKtec M8.

Developers report near-full-speed results in many games, with slowdowns in heavier scenes. Their hardware includes an M1 Max Mac and Ryzen 7 7840U Linux system. Broader compatibility needs testing.
